Charlestown Stoneware Jug made between 1805-1810 in Charlestown Massachusetts. Stamped with 3 Hearts to indicate gallons. Dipped top and bottom with the typical Boston glaze.
Front side shows water cracking caused by steam expansion during the firing process and most of the cracking does not go completly through the wall. Very solid and typical of this early stoneware. – Measures 15″ tall
