Front side shows water cracking caused by steam expansion during the firing process and most of the cracking does not go completly through the wall. Very solid and typical of this early stoneware. Un-marked but attributed to William Roberts, Binghamton, N.Y. Has the letters which look like V&S or U&S..Only damage is a very tight hairline on the left side which is not an issue. Bird is almost identicle to examples of William Roberts work of Birmington,New York. Crisp Blue decoration takes up complete front and wraps around sides.
